Location

The Department of Music is located on the main (Heslington) campus of the University of York. The music building (including the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall) and related offices are in the north west quarter of campus, just west of Market Square.

Parking

Parking on the University Campus can be very limited and the regulations are rigorously enforced with substantial civil parking notices for breaches. The short stay car park close to the Market Square, which is only a few minutes walk from the Music Department, should be used for dropping off and picking up. Pay and Display car parks should be used for longer periods of parking if needed. Other car parks are for permit holders only, and should not be used even for short periods. Note particularly that this includes the car park adjacent to the Lyons Concert Hall which should not be used except for evening concerts starting after 6.00 pm.
