Making Payment

This page explains the payment process for Yorchestra courses.  Since we can’t at present take online card payments, you need to make payment as a separate step alongside your application for a place.


How do I work out what to pay?

Step 1

Check whether you qualify for Early Bird and/or first-time player discounts. (“Bring-a-friend” discounts are paid by way of refund, so ignore at this stage.)

Step 2

Check the amount of the course fee (with applicable discounts).

Step 3

Deduct the amount of any bursary applied for.

Step 4

Add in any voluntary donation (thank you!)  Gift Aid information and forms are on our Donations page.

Step 5

Pay the final total by direct bank transfer (BACS) or chequeWhere possible, please consider paying by BACS, since we incur bank charges for cashing cheques.

When should I make payment?

Payment for course fees must be made at the same time as you apply for a place: your application is not complete until we have received payment.  Please do not wait until you have received confirmation of a place, since this may mean that you miss out altogether!  If we cannot  offer your child a place, you will receive a full refund.

If you are claiming the Early Bird rate, we must receive both your application form and payment by the Early Bird deadline.

How do I send you my payment?

Payment can be made by direct bank transfer (BACS) or cheque only. We are not able to take online card payments at the present time.

Please set the payment reference to child’s surname, first initial, ensemble applied for  (eg. John Smith attending Y3 would be ‘SmithJY3’).

If your bank requires you to fill in an account name, use “Yorchestra”

If at all possible, where applying for more than one place, please send a separate transfer for each child – thank you!


Payable to “Yorchestra“.  Please write child’s name course on reverse  (eg. ‘John Smith / Y3’)
